Dan Easley - sounds

self-recorded in Linville and Rawley Springs, Virginia, March 2009 through January 2010.

the electric guitar is a very nice 1980's Ibanez from the Les Paul half of the universe; the acoustic guitar is a Martin HD28V.  the mandolin is a 2009 Eastman A model.  the chapman stick is a 10-string ironwood model from 1975, purchased from an old friend in late november.  the saxophone is a 1929 Buescher.  the snare drum came all the way from taiwan.

i used exclusively free (open source) software: the operating system was Ubuntu Studio 9.04; tracking and mixing was done with Ardour 2.7.1.  software synthesizers/samplers used include hydrogen, fluidsynth, zynaddsubfx, hexter, and aeolus.  many LADSPA effects were used, especially the C*, TAP, and Calf suites, Steve Harris' plugins, the SC4 compressor, Barry's Satan Maximizer, and Delayorama.  track 4 features Lulu the Cat.
