Frédéric Dorée programs loops and coproduces.

He and Dan Easley combine forces to become The Kindly Ones, saving the world with delicate fury and precise abandon.

Frédéric was born, raised and overeducated in Liège, Belgium, and currently resides in Richmond, Virginia. Much of his and Dan's collaboration takes place via the Internet, with semiregular meetings in meatspace to tidy things up.

Frédéric likes cats, books by Thomas Pynchon, William Gibson, and Neal Stephenson, and any music that doesn't suck. He started making music using computers in the mid-nineties, using DOS-based trackers such as StreamTracker 3. His program of choice in the context of The Kindly Ones is now FruityLoops. As a result of this and other addictions, Frédéric spends entirely too much time on his computer.

Frédéric and Dan have released two albums and a single so far: Lousy Like Our Mood (released Candlemas 2005), Speak of the Devil (released April Fools Day 2006), and What Brutes (released January 2006), respectively. Two of their songs appear on Dan Easley's sundowning, and an earlier collaboration of Easley and Dorée's is on Pogo bonobo.
